Hi! We're Lorence & Aniek

We’re a queer couple who discovered maté (the healthy South American alternative to coffee) during our travels. Traditionally, maté is shared as a sign of connection, but Aniek found it too bitter, so we couldn’t enjoy it together.

Back in the Netherlands, where maté was still relatively unknown, we started blending it with other herbs to soften the bitterness and make it more accessible for Aniek. After positive reviews from our family and friends about the drink and its benefits we excitedly started introducing more and more people. And so, UltiMaté TEA was born: a drink to energize, to connect, and to share

What We Stand For

At UltiMaté TEA, our mission is to empower Ultimate Well-being, a state in which people, communities, and our planet can truly flourish. We believe this ultimate well-being touches every aspect of life:

  • It begins with Nature, recognizing that the health of our planet is the very foundation of our own. We're committed to practices that cherish and restore the Earth. Which is why all our packaging is bio-degradable and planet friendly.

  • It extends to your personal Health. We ensure every blend is crafted from bio ingredients which have nurturing capabilities. So you can stay energized and engaged without guilt.

  • And lastly, it encompasses our drive for Community. Maté is meant to be shared with people. A community helps to foster mental & emotional well-being and we can thrive all together.

You're invited to embrace this complete circle of health with us. Nurture yourself, each other, and the planet with every UltiMaté TEA moment.

Discovering Maté

While exploring Patagonia, we discovered maté; a vitamin and anti-oxidant packed hot beverage with cultural significance. Drinking maté is a tradition, a social practice and a moment of connection (to nature, yourself, or your friends).

Maté boosts your energy, it diminishes your feeling of hunger, it aids digestion, it increases bone density and it improves your heart health. No wonder why South Americans like to drink it the whole day.

P.S. If you're ever in Puerto Natales, visit Nuestro Cafe for amazing conversations and great Maté (where we had our first!)

On Enjoying life

We have both discovered on a young age that life isn't always happy and easy. Where Lorence has gone through immense grief and Aniek has dealt with physical setbacks we both have embraced the good and the bad days as they come.

That is why we couldn't agree more with "Disfruta, que la vida es corta!" Not sure where to start? Check our Tasty Taster-kit and enjoy your day, one cup at a time.
